Obama beats McCain and Hillary on Personal Identity Issue!

Mr. Doug Jaeger of thehappycorp global breaks down the visual identity and web sites of Hillary Clinton, Barack Obama and John McCain for Vanity Fair.

Doug Jaeger: By far, Obama has the best design, in terms of typography, color, and website architecture. Obama's logo is simple and gives the impression of light on the horizon, or at the end of the tunnel so to speak. It's clean, easy, and recognizable. His color palette is consistent and deliberate; he let the designers do their work and make the thing look like something. Obama has by far the most links under what he calls "Obama Everywhere". Links to Facebook, YouTube, Flickr, Blackplanet, FaithBase, Digg, Twitter he's doing it all. He's more Web 2.0 than some of the people I hang out with. When I visited JohnMcCain.com, I was reminded immediately of a brand that advertises a lot on television. I quickly visited goarmy.com, and found that the two sites had a few things in common. Black and yellow coloration, and the single star.

More from Doug on his blog.  Also take a look at a recent post by Lee Maicon on Obama's Typography and how it relates to Facebook.
